What is Paint Correction?
Paint Correction is the process of ridding your paint of scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, and any other imperfections. Our skilled team uses machine polishers to bring back the depth, gloss, and clarity of your exterior.
There is no better way than Paint Correction to improve the luster of your vehicle; yes, waxes, sealants, and coatings give off some shine, but they do not fix the origin of the problem.
Correction services restore the root of the imperfections in your paint and bring back that aesthetic, smooth, and mirror-like finish.

Understanding Paint Correction
Paint Correction can be very challenging to wrap your head around, especially if you’ve never been exposed to the language used to describe it. First, you must understand that those pesky swirls and scratches you see on your paint are actually a divot in your clear coat. Paint is applied in layers, and when something scrapes along your clear coat, it leaves behind a dip in that layer. This causes light to not bounce perfectly off the surface, which is why you see the mark you see.
What Paint Correction does is it cuts that layer of clear coat away, leaving behind a fresh and level layer, which allows light to then bounce off of normally. This is how your paint is “restored’, by changing the path light reflects off your surface.
Paint Correction is no magic, and there are some defects in the paint no amount of machine polishing will be able to fix. Similarly, your paint cannot be corrected if there is nothing there: if you run your finger along your clear coat and your nail catches, that is not a matter of paint correction, that is a matter of getting a repaint. Depending on the condition of your vehicle, how much you’re willing to spend, and what results you're looking for will dictate how much work we do to your paint.

Paint Correction Process

Thorough Wash
A thorough, proper, and deep hand wash of your vehicle will go under way to rid your paint of all dirt, grease, grime, etc.

Paint Correction (Compounding)
The first step of the paint correction process. This is where most of the imperfections in your paint will come out as we will use aggressive pads and abrasives.

Chemical Decontamination
Using premium chemicals, we will remove any left over bugs, tar, sap, and acid, as well as use an iron remover to open the pours of your paint and make sure nothing stays embedded in your clear coat.

Paint Polishing
The final step of the correction process. This phase uses less aggressive abrasives and pads that will round out/further enhance the work done in the previous step.

Mechanical Decontamination
We will then follow up with a proper clay bar treatment of your vehicle, ensuring there is absoltuely nothing left on the surface of your paint.

Applying Protection
Once your paint is looking good, it must be protected! A wax is included with your service, but we strongly encourage following your paint correction up with a Ceramic Coating.
